Now Hiring - Sales Analyst in Santa Paula, CA

The Sales Analyst will be responsible for supporting the VP of Sales Planning and fresh sales department by creating, coordinating, and maintaining a structured process that identifies profitable avocado sales opportunities. The role will be responsible for informing the sales management team of supply, demand, production, and sales trends, as well as identifying inventory challenges and their root causes. Will evaluate selling prices and refine our ability to understand and correct variances. Will play a key role in developing an analytics team working closely with the Calavo fresh sales team.

Essential Job Functions: The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Formulating sales planning and reporting models.

a. Understand commodity pricing and volume trends for Calavo fresh products and industry.

b. Forecasting needs and demands from the sales team.

c. Organize critical harvest and cost figures from source/country of origin.

2. Engage in the development of a suite of reporting and analytics with the use of Microsoft Excel/Power BI

3. Generate gross margin and profit analysis on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

4. Assess profitability of selling prices and optimal inventory levels.

5. Will collaborate with sales, field teams and 3rd party growers to develop profitable sales strategies.

6. Organize top-tier customer profiles to isolate their demand for source, sizes, and pack styles.

7. Daily and weekly reporting of market data, pricing, and crop estimates.

8. Perform receiving and shipping functions for virtual warehouses including activity regarding customers, commodities and/or sales transactions.

9. Extensive data entry and maintenance of database of historical Calavo and industry data.

10. Ad hoc reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent of education and experience.

3. Minimum of two years’ experience in a supportive/analytical position in a sales environment, preferably in the agriculture/produce industry; experience working in the avocado industry is highly preferred.

4. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.

5. Must possess excellent collaboration skills.

6. Ability to analyze and resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

7. Proficient PC skills in MS Office; previous experience using order entry systems highly necessary.

8. High proficiency in data entry skills; speed and accuracy are required.

9. Strong skills in Microsoft excel; familiarity with tables, pivot tables and formulas.

Compensation:

• The base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $72,900 - $109,400.
• The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience.
• Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
